This is Why Opting for a Bespoke Kitchen is Worth Every Penny

Our homes: we spend more time at home than any generation ever has.

Pre-lockdown, on average, just 50% of our lives were spent with our loved ones at home: fast forward to 2022 and we’re lounging in our abodes for a high of 72% of the time.

Across two years of intermittent lockdowns, we renovated our homes, redesigned our gardens, introduced pets, and fostered treasured relationships.

Home renovations have never been closer to our hearts but decorating can often feel overwhelming and being involved in the process is crucial for many renovating hopefuls.

A recent poll revealed that nine in 10 homeowners have taken on a renovation since 2020, with more than a third of homeowners spending up to £20,000 embarking on a home renovation, making them a serious financial and emotional investment.

Queue bespoke kitchen and furniture company, Forrest Bespoke, whose Kent-based workshop creates one-of-a-kind handcrafted kitchens and bespoke built-in furniture.

Bringing together both traditional and modern cabinet-making techniques, Forrest Bespoke is the embodiment of the contemporary artisanal outfit.

Beautiful pieces of cabinetry not only serve to conceal the basic objects of daily life that we don’t want on display, but they also become a showpiece in themselves. Its doors and drawers – whether they’re the latest in soft-close technology or antique pieces of exotic wood with hidden compartments – shine a light on our tastes and make our homes feel like extensions of ourselves.

Forrest Bespoke founder, Sam Forrest, says of the steps: “We will guide you through an initial consultation, taking care of every specific requirement to enable your vision to come to life.”

Forrest Bespoke use only the best materials, ensuring quality, originality, and sustainability are at the core of their ethos.

"We aim to use locally sourced and sustainable timbers wherever possible on our projects," Sam commented, "We hand-pick individual pieces of wood such as English Oak from surrounding sawmills, allowing us to use what is in stock at any given time and adding a sense of individuality to our work.

"By sourcing and providing the very best of British craftsmanship that lasts a lifetime, we also hope to move people away from the mass-produced market that would need consistent replacing in comparison."

Forrest Bespoke fully invest in every project they undertake, having worked on one-off designs from shaker kitchens, handleless kitchens and media units to elaborate home bars, library units and bedroom furniture across the South East.

2020 was a difficult year for the industry but despite all of the challenges, Forrest Bespoke undertook a myriad of exciting projects.

"One of our most memorable projects was an Art Deco property in Hove," Sam recollects. "Working alongside a fantastic interior design team, we managed a full-scale renovation and tailored each corner of the home from handmade tiles to gold plated taps and bespoke joinery throughout. The house was beautifully restored and our clients were thrilled with the final result."

Their passion, appreciation for the art and craft of cabinet-making, and evident satisfaction of being a part of an intimate home improvement project make Forrest Bespoke the cabinet-makers of choice for Société magazine.

Creating bespoke pieces for clients runs in Sam's blood. He draws upon years of experience within the luxury design and construction industry and has brought to life many projects that started with a simple 3D design.

"I particularly enjoy seeing my client's vision come to life, adding my touches and experience where needed, but ultimately helping to guide them through the process so that the final project is exactly what they had envisioned, even if they could only see snippets of inspiration and not a complete image.

"Knowing our kitchens and furniture, often a focal point of the house will then be enjoyed by family and friends for years to come gives me and everyone involved in every commission a great sense of pride and satisfaction."
